Description:
This incident occurred on the Antelope Fire on the Klamath National Forest, California. A firefighter received minor burns to the hands and ear when their Water Tender took direct flame impingement during retreat from the fire. These burn injuries were received when the firefighter partially deployed their shelter when exiting the immobilized vehicle to join with another vehicle. The patient was transported to a medical center, treated, and released the same evening.
