Description:
On 9/9/21 the Antelope Fire made a significant run into the monument ultimately crossing the main park road (10 Road) and burning into the 2020 Caldwell Fire scar. During this event a Lava Beds National Monument (California) water tender conducting preventative maintenance tasks was impacted by the fire front, became stuck and suffered burn damage to the vehicle but no injuries to firefighters.
