Description:
Coconino National Forest, Arizona. April 11, 2024
During a PT hike, a firefighter, who was carrying a pulaski, tripped over a rock and fell. His initial attack gear went up over his head as he fell, making the fall awkward. As he got up, he covered his right wrist as blood spurted out—from a pulaski laceration. He called out for an EMT. The first EMT to reach him instantly noticed bright red blood dripping from his right wrist from under his hand. The cut required surgery to repair tendons, arteries, and nerves that had been severed.
