Description:
A base camp manager on the Black Fire, Gila National Forest, New Mexico, experienced a fall onto concrete stepping onto a cooler from the tailgate of a truck. EMTs were involved in transporting the patient via agency helicopter to a local hospital. The patient sustained a fractured elbow, orbital fracture and a laceration that did not require stitches. The patient was still in the ER at the time of the report, but due to be released that evening.
