    Daly Fire, Bitterroot National Forest, Montana - 2024

    Two contract fallers and USFS road guards were assigned to work together on the morning of September 5. The USFS Engine Crew’s Road guards started driving to get into place. They drove west looking for the felling module’s truck to indicate the area in which the fallers were working. During their drive, a tree fell onto their truck.
    The tree struck the hood of the truck and went over the truck’s cab and box. A short distance later, the truck stopped. No one in the truck was injured.
