  • Description:

    A member of the Laguna IHC was walking on steep terrain on the Inyo National Forest when a log dislodged above the firefighter and rolled, hitting the firefighter in the head, resulting in a 3-centimeter laceration. A Line Paramedic was present and assessed the firefighter and placed a C-collar on the patient and then assisted the patient’s hike to a helispot. The patient was then flown directly to the Fresno Regional Medical Center accompanied by the Paramedic and the IHC Captain. The patient was evaluated, received several staples, and was released to light duty for 3 days.
