    The sawyer accidentally caused the chainsaw guide bar to make contact with the strap wood, resulting in a kickback that was forceful enough to cause the guide bar to exit the back cut kerf and strike the sawyer on their upper right arm. Examining their upper arm, the sawyer noticed a serious laceration there, in which blood had started to seep out. Realizing the severity of the injury, the sawyer applied direct pressure to the wound and promptly alerted the road guard of the situation.
