Description:
Payette and Salmon-Challis NFs, Idaho; a private plane with two passengers crashed near the Forest’s boundary and ignited a wildland fire. Payette helitack responded to suppress the fire, County EMS officials launched a helicopter to handle the aviation emergency. County requested the FS helicopter (short haul qualified) to assist as one of the private aircraft passengers was determined to be in urgent need of medical attention and unable to hike to a landing zone. The FS conducted a short-haul of one of the civilians. The short haul was successful.
