  • Description:

    After two days of firing operations on the Deschutes National Forest's Pine Mountain Prescribed Fire, two spot fires were identified. Several more spot fires were identified within the hour. By 1100, fire behavior had intensified and was heading downhill and spotting over a road. As the afternoon progressed, additional resources were requested, and the fire was estimated to be approximately 500 acres in size beyond the unit boundary. At 1406 on May 7, the Pine Mountain Prescribed Fire was officially declared a wildfire.
