  • Description:

    After hiking for ~30 minutes en route to a training location on the Prescott National Forest, Arizona, a member of an Interagency Hotshot Crew (IHC) verbalized not feeling well to a Captain. When the Captain turned to respond, the crewmember was observed falling to the ground, without trying to break his fall. It appeared to be a complete black-out that lasted for less than one minute. Upon regaining consciousness, patient was alert and oriented, and aware that he had blacked out. The crewmember was transported to a waiting ambulance and taken to hospital where a CT scan was performed. CT scan results were not conclusive, and the crewmember was referred to primary care.
