Description:
Texas A&M Forest Service resources were requested to assist with a wildfire exhibiting very active fire behavior, having already crossed a four-lane highway, and threatening structures with evacuations in progress. During structure protection operations, a Polaris XP900 UTV experienced mechanical failure. The operator was unable to move the UTV from the path of the fire and was forced to abandon it. The UTV was burned over, resulting in total loss of the equipment. The operator safely escaped with no injuries.
