Description:
Late in the evening (2330) of 10/09/2024, a crewmember on an Interagency Hotshot Crew (IHC) assigned to the Shoe Fire, Shasta-Trinity National Forest, California, experienced a possible heat injury with a secondary injury of a 1-inch laceration to the wrist. The initial treatment was provided by an agency EMT, and the injured crewmember was transferred to the ground ambulance at 0045 on 10/10/24. The crewmember and a squad boss arrived at Mercy Medical Center in Redding at 0300. The employee was treated and released back to full duty as of 0530 on 10/10/24.
