Description:
Albert Klingshirn and Louis Watkins were entrapped by fire and passed away during a "blow up" of the Silver Creek Fire, Nez Perce National Forest, near Grangeville, Idaho. The fire made a wind-driven run and increased from 200 to 600 acres, trapping the men on the night of August 30. A third firefighter escaped but received third degree burns.
