  • Description:

    During an afternoon First Aid/CPR Training on the Tonto National Forest, Arizona, a firefighter noticed his leg muscles were really stiff and sore from the morning PT run. After driving home from work (~1 hour drive) his legs muscles were so stiff he could barely walk. He decided to go to the local ER. Patient was immediately administered an IV and the doctor ordered a blood test because of suspected rhabdomyolysis, which was later confirmed. Patient was released at 0030 on the morning of 3/28/2024, with instructions to rest and hydrate for 4 days and will need a follow-up visit with a doctor before returning to work.
