  • Description:

    On September 16, 2025, a spotter with a falling team mitigating hazard trees on the Garnet Fire (Sierra National Forest) was struck by a falling limb. The limb fell from the falling pine tree just as the sawyer completed the backcut. The spotter suffered a broken left forearm and finger degloving. A quick extraction by a REMS team and hotshot crew led to a medevac by Army helicopter.
