    At 1535 on June 25, 1961, a Consolidated PBY-6A Catalina registered N6986C crashed shortly after takeoff en route to a fire in the area of Winslow, Arizona. The crash occurred after an engine failure as the crew attempted to return to the airport. Both pilots, Doyle Keeling and Render Mathews, were killed in the accident.
