Description:
Ernest "Ernie" Covington, a foreman for the California Department of Forestry (now CAL FIRE), suffered a fatal medical emergency while supervising firefighters on the Atlas Peak Fire, Napa County, California. Crewmembers on scene attempted to revive Covington as they waited for a doctor and ambulance on the side of the road. However, their attempts were unsuccessful.
