Bell Rock Road Fire Entrapment Fatality 1913

Frederick Sheppard, a farmer in Fall River, Massachusetts, was found deceased after he had gone missing while fighting fire in the woods near his farm. A group of locals mobilized to fight the fire, and at some point noticed that Sheppard was no longer with them. A group searched the burnt forest and found Sheppard's burned body. It was thought he had become overcome by smoke or heat and his body subsequently burned.
