Bell Rock Road Fire Entrapment Fatality 1913

Frederick Sheppard, a farmer in Fall River, Massachusetts, was found deceased after he had gone missing while suppressing fire in the woods near his farm. A group of locals had mobilized to suppress this fire. At some point, they noticed that Sheppard was no longer with them. A search party dispersed out into the forest and found Sheppard's burned body. It was thought he had become overcome by smoke or heat and perished.
