  • Description:

    On July 2, 2006 at approximately 1900 hours, a firefighter participating in suppression activities on the Big Draw Fire in Idaho. The firefighter was working with a hose at the left front of his Type 4 engine, when he apparently tripped and fell to the ground. His legs were run over by the left front tire of the engine--breaking his right femur and fracturing his left foot. His condition was stabilized on scene and he was transported to Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho, via a U.S. Forest Service helicopter that was assigned to the fire.
