Description:
On July 15, 1987, two loggers, Mark Giles and James Moore, who had been assisting in suppression efforts on the large Bland Mountain Fire near Canyonville, Oregon, were entrapped and killed. The circumstances of their deaths are not readily available. The fire went on to burn over 10,000 acres in the South Umpqua River watershed.
