Description:
On August 19, 1931, Sigurd Sundby was struck by a fire-weakened tree while on his second day of fighting a fire near Bovill, Idaho. Another man nearby was also reported injured by the falling tree. The injured man was taken to the hospital in nearby Elk River, while Sundby succumbed to his injuries onscene.
