Bray Fire Medical Emergency Fatality 1945

Jesse Ward, a local resident of Siskiyou County, California, died suddenly while operating a bulldozer on a fire by Bray. Ward was assisting the Shasta National Forest in suppressing the fire when he experienced a medical emergency at around 1800 on August 28. He was found dead at the controls of his tractor. It was suspected that Ward had been a victim of a cardiac condition.
