Buckhorn Fire Dehydration Illness 2024

  • Description:

    A crewmember on an engine module was working on indirect fireline construction on the Buckhorn Fire, San Carlos Agency, Arizona, when the crewmember became nauseous and experienced vomiting and diarrhea. Line medics assessed patient and called in a "yellow" medical. The crewmember was transported via incident ground ambulance to the hospital and were treated and released the same day (7/17/24). The following day was a normal day off, the crewmember was back to work on 7/19/24.
