Buckingham County Fire 2008

On April 14, 2008, a Virginia Department of Forestry County Technician was burned over on a wildfire in Buckingham County and needed to be medevacked to UVA University Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was constructing dozer line at the head of a major fire in a 9 to10-year pine plantation when the fire intensity increased and overran his dozer. He received 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his neck, thighs and hands. He was transferred from the Emergency Room to the Intensive Care Unit.
