Description:
During the first 24-hour period of the Camp Incident in Butte County, California, two accidents occurred resulting in five firefighters suffering serious burns. On November 8, 2018, at approximately 3:00 PM while preplanning and preparing for a firing operation, one Fire Captain and two inmate firefighters suffered burns and were transported to a burn center for treatment. The next day, during the same operational period, at approximately 5:00 AM, a fire engine crew acting on a threatened residential structure were burned when a propane tank exploded. One Fire Captain and one Firefighter I suffered burns and were transported and treated at a local hospital.
