Carlton VFD Water Tender Fatality 2005

On November 22, 2005, Firefighter Clint Dewayne Rice of the Carlton Volunteer Fire Department, was driving a tractor-trailer water tender as his department was providing mutual aid to the Hamilton, Texas Fire Department in fighting a large grass fire located west of Hamilton. At approximately 1430 hours, Rice lost control of the truck while rounding a turn, causing it to overturn. Rice was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck when it flipped. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
