Cascade Fire Hit by Tree Fatality 1992

Firefighter Julie Ann Young, an employee on a Boise National Forest fire crew, was killed by a falling snag on a fire near Cascade Reservoir in Idaho. Young was reportedly installing a hoselay to the fire when a dead tree fell and struck her around 1600. Fellow firefighter quickly responded, beginning CPR and requesting air medevac. When paramedics arrived via helicopter, they determined that Young had perished.
