Description:
An engine crew member from the Black Hills National Forest assigned to the Cellar Fire on the Prescott National Forest was feeling ill. The incident medical personnel chose to fly her back to her home. Later that day or evening she went to the hospital and was admitted with a diagnosis of Valley Fever which is endemic to the American Southwest. She is expected to make a full recovery. The Prescott National Forest with support from the Region 3 Regional Office will pursue an RLS to highlight what firefighters need to know about this disease.
