Description:
On the Cherry Creek Fire, a crewmember on a Type 2 crew experienced severe stomach and abdominal pain. The individual was transported from the fire to emergency room via agency vehicle, accompanied by a fellow crew member. At the hospital the firefighter was diagnosed with appendicitis after diagnostic testing. The firefighter was admitted to the hospital 7/30 and had surgery (appendectomy) the following morning. The firefighter was released later that day 7/31 and cleared by doctor to travel home.
