Cherry Valley Fire Hit by Tree Fatality 1922

    Leo McDonald, a 19-year-old logger from Canada, was killed by a falling tree while helping suppress a fire east of Seattle near the town of Stillwater, Washington. McDonald was an employee of the Cherry Valley Lumber Company. He and other company employees had responded to this fire. According to McDonald's death certificate, the falling tree fractured his spine. His death apparently occurred shortly after this tree strike accident.
