Description:
Leo McDonald, a 19-year-old logger from Canada, was killed by a falling tree while fighting a fire east of Seattle, Washington. McDonald was an employee of the Cherry Valley Lumber Company, and with other employees assisted in fighting a fire near the town of Stillwater. According to McDonald's death certificate the falling tree fractured his spine. His death seems to have quickly followed the accident.
