Description:
An engine crewmember on the Chilcoot Fire, Umpqua National Forest, Oregon, received several bee stings that resulted in fireline medical emergency. Several aviation assets were ordered initially, but the medevac and transport to the hospital eventually was accomplished by assigned ambulance. The crewmember was transported to the hospital, evaluated, treated and released with a prescription for an epi-pen (epinephrin).
