    The Coffee Pot Fire was first reported at 10:24 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 1994, to the Albuquerque Zone Fire Dispatch Center. At 6:00 a.m. on June 9, an IMT was assigned to manage the Ryan Complex on the Cibola National Forest which included the Coffee Pot Fire. On June 14, 1994, five members of the Globe Interagency Hotshot Crew were working on the east side of Apache Kid Peak near the switch-backs on Forest Trail 46. Between 8:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. the fire made a strong run up the east side of the Peak. The five decided it was necessary to deploy their fire shelters to protect themselves from the fire.
