    On July 29, 2003, at approximately 1630 hours on the Cramer Fire on the North Fork Ranger District/Salmon-Challis National Forest,  a member of a Type 1 Interagency Hotshot Crew was injured in a chainsaw-related accident while performing the duties of a swamper working to improve a helispot. The faller and crew foreman immediately assisted the swamper to the helispot. The crew EMT administered first aid. The patient was evacuated via helicopter to a local hospital for treatment. The injury consisted of a seven-centimeter laceration to the right posterior thigh--just above the back of the knee, with involvement of tendon and muscle. Treatment included tendon and laceration repair. The patient was discharged from the hospital the next day and released to home from the Cramer Fire.
