Description:
Virgil Eastman, the district ranger of the Bigfork Ranger District, Flathead National Forest, Montana, was struck by a falling tree while supervising slash burning. Eastman was struck by snag in a timber harvest unit near Crane Mountain. Another Forest Service employee was reportedly hit by the same tree but not seriously injured.
