Description:
Virgil Eastman, the District Ranger of the Bigfork Ranger District, Flathead National Forest, Montana, was struck by a falling tree while supervising slash burning. Eastman was struck by snag in a timber harvest unit near Crane Mountain. Another U.S. Forest Service employee was reportedly hit by the same tree, but was not seriously injured.
