Description:
Beginning in January 2021, San Bernardino National Forest (California) firefighters began burning piles of cut and stacked fuels in the Cranston Fire scar. The total acreage of all pile burn units within this project is 110 acres. Over three days of ignitions (January 6th, 7th, and 12th), fire personnel successfully burned 49 acres of this 110. In the very early morning of January 15th, a fire was reported adjacent to the burn unit from January 12. Total burned area from the wildfire was 715 acres. Ultimately the the fire was determined to be a prescribed fire escape.
