Day Fire Water Tender Rollover 2006

At approximately 1550 hours on October 4, 2006 on the Day Fire on the Los Padres National Forest, a contracted water tender drove off the side of the road--rolling over approximately five times until it came to a stop 165 feet below the road. The water tender sustained major damage. The operator was ejected from the cab on the second or third revolution. The operator received minor injuries, including cuts and bruises. He was transported via the Ventura County Air Squad to the Ventura County Medical Center. He was treated and released.
