Description:
Wellesley "Wes" Hartman was killed by a rock while suppressing the Decker Fire near Lake Sherwood in Ventura County, California. Hartman was a firefighter was Los Angeles County Fire and took part in the initial attack of the brush fire that ultimately burned 145 acres. Hartman was killed when he was struck on the head by a rock dislodged from a bulldozer working in steep terrain about him and other firefighters.
