East Fire Cooking Burn Injury 2019

  • Description:

    An Elk Mountain IHC member was cooking a meal at a remote camp on the East Fire on the Mendocino National Forest and received a burn injury to the right hand. He was treated by U.S. Forest Service EMTs and then flown out to a nearby town via a Forest Service ship where a local medical center’s air ambulance was waiting. He was then flown to UC Davis Burn Center. He was treated and released that same day.
