Description:
Philip Commodore, a resident of Entiat Valley near Wenatchee, Washington, had volunteered to assist in suppressing fires in his local area. On August 4, 1925, he was helping suppress a fire. Just after 0800 hours, a tree apparently burned out at the base and fell, striking two other trees and hitting Commodore--taking his life. Another nearby firefighter was also hit by part of a tree, but was uninjured.
