Description:
Philip Commodore, a resident of Entiat Valley near Wenatchee, Washington, was killed by a falling tree. Commodore had volunteered to assist fighting fires in the local area. Just after 0800 on August 4, a tree apparently burned out at the base and fell, striking two other trees and hitting Commodore. Another firefighter nearby was also hit by part of a tree but was uninjured.
