Description:
At approximately 11:20 p.m. on August 10, 2001, two firefighters from the Tahoe National Forest's Engine 32 deployed their fire shelters on the Fish Fire when a large fire whirl approached them. The Fish Fire was under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City District. The Nevada BLM State Director assembled a team to determine the factors that led to the deployment of the two fire shelters.
