  • Description:

    On May 6, 2021, the Krassel Ranger District concluded their spring prescribed burning with a one-day aerial burn in the Four Mile project area. The fuels and fire behavior in Unit J did not react as expected for spring burning conditions on the Payette National Forest (Idaho). A common tactic to let fire back into a riparian zone on the southern project boundary would be tested. Eleven days later a recon flight confirmed that fire had crept across the southern boundary.
