Description:
A Forest Service firefighter was hit by a large rock while performing initial attack on a Cal Fire jurisdiction incident on the Fresno-Kings Unit in California. The firefighter was assisting another crewmember with a hose pack when the rock struck. Patient fell down hill with the rock approximately 10 feet and the rock continued downslope. Patent received treatment on scene immediately, then was hoisted via CHP helicopter and transported to the hospital. All tests came back negative (e.g. no broken bones, strained muscles, torn tendons, etc.); patient was released and will be on light duty for a couple days then released back to full duty.
