    The Gash Creek Fire, located on the Bitterroot National Forest west of Victor, Montana, was managed by a Type 2 Incident Management Team for 30 days. It burned more than 8,000 acres and cost over eight million dollars. Incident objectives such as maintaining firefighter and public safety and protecting structures were met. Yet, in the final analysis, the Agency Administrator was uncomfortable with the results.
