Description:
On July 26, 1981, on the Grizzly Canyon Fire at approximately 1550 hours, Fire Apparatus Engineer (FAE) Steve Frost and his crew on Engine 1390 arrived to assist on a backfiring operation. The fire made a sudden run at their location and engulfed them in flames. RPT Wayne Walker received 2nd and possible 3rd degree burns over his lower extremities. Frost received 2nd degree burns on his left hand.
