Description:
Richard Rosvall, a Forest Service firefighter stationed in Salyer was killed in a helicopter crash on Grizzly Mountain east of Willow Creek on July 25, 1969. The helicopter, owned by Pine Bent Helicopters, was in northwest California supporting numerous lightning fires. The crash also injured the pilot and another Forest Service employee, a helitack crewmember on the Six Rivers National Forest. The flight was described as a recon flight.
