Hermits Peak-Calf Canyon Fall off Heavy Equipment 2022

    An excavator operator assigned to the Hermits Peak-Calf Canyon Fire on Santa Fe National Forest, New Mexico, fell off the equipment while checking the oil and sustained injuries. The patient was transported to a local hospital via national guard Blackhawk and stayed overnight. Patient’s injuries included a broken arm (radius and ulna), dislocated elbow and contusions and lacerations on the head/face. Surgery was planned for the broken arm.
