Description:
A firefighter assigned to the Hermits Peak Fire, Santa Fe National Forest, New Mexico was mopping up with a backpack pump. While hiking uphill a gust of wind unbalanced him and he fell backwards, landing on a tool that was slung on his back. The firfighter sustained a lower spine compression fracture. He was transported to hospital via incident ambulance; treated and released and expected to make a full recovery after a few weeks and physical therapy.
