Highland Fire Burn Injury 2023

    At approximately 2245 on October 30, a firefighter from the Cleveland National Forest, California, received burns to the face (cheek) and both knees while suppressing the Highland Fire. As the firefighter was crossing a fence, the firefighter was caught in the fence before falling into open flame. The firefighter was transported by ground ambulance to Temecula Valley Hospital. Upon arrival, he was immediately flown to the University of California-San Diego burn center.
