Highway 99 Accident 2012

On August 18, 2012, at approximately 1:50 P.M., a CAL FIRE Engine Strike Team was traveling north on Highway 99 in Sacramento, CA. As the Strike Team approached a busy interchange, a passenger vehicle stopped in front of one of the Engines. The Engine Operator swerved to avoid a collision with the vehicle. The Engine Operator made two more evasive maneuvers to avoid a second collision and to control the sway of the Engine. On the final maneuver, the Engine lost traction and slid around impacting a cement center divider.
