Horse Gulch Fire Allergic Reaction 2024

    On the Horse Gulch Fire, Helena/Lewis and Clark National Forest, Montana, a crewmember on a T2 Crew engaged in mop-up had a medical emergency when the crewmember ate nuts contained in a nutrition bar. An incident-assigned paramedic was on-scene within minutes and recommended a ground ambulance to a local hospital after the patient aspirated after taking Benadryl. No epinephrine was administered by the paramedic.  The crewmember was treated, released from the hospital, and was back with his crew at the end of shift.
